Many old people are physically frail but mentally still fit. With their life experiences they can be very useful to us. If their health is good, they can even work as part-time teachers or supervisors, look after small children or animals and do moderate household work. Instead of banning them from our lives, we should include them into our daily life and make them feel loved and needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anyone who is old and seriously ill should be cared for in a living way. The burden of care must be distributed to many people. In addition to trained nursing staff, students could be included in the care for example to read a book or go shopping with them. There are many possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Viele alte Menschen sind zwar k\u00f6rperlich gebrechlich aber mental noch voll fit. Mit ihren Lebenserfahrungen k\u00f6nnen sie uns sehr n\u00fctzlich sein. Sie k\u00f6nnen, sofern es ihre Gesundheit zul\u00e4sst, stundenweise als Lehrer oder Supervisor auf bestimmten Fachgebieten t\u00e4tig sein, auf Kleinkinder oder Tiere aufpassen und bestimmte leichte T\u00e4tigkeiten im Haushalt \u00fcbernehmen. Anstelle sie aus unserem Leben zu verbannen, sollten wir ihre Hilfe in Anspruch nehmen, ihnen Liebe und das Gef\u00fchl geben, dass sie gebraucht werden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wer alt und schwer erkrankt ist, sollte liebevoll gepflegt werden. Doch die Last der Pflege muss auf mehrere Schultern verteilt werden. So k\u00f6nnten neben geschulten Pflegepersonal auch Sch\u00fcler und Stunden gegen ein Entgelt in die Betreuung einbezogen werden, zum Beispiel zum Vorlesen oder gemeinsamen Einkaufen.
